The Genoa prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into the sales of three Sampdoria
players, along with an analysis of all the team’s accounts in recent years. The investigation
delegation was assigned to the tax and economic police unit of the financial police by the deputy
prosecutor Francesco Pinto, following the receipt of the documents of the Prisma investigation
by colleagues in Turin. Ansa reported the news.
The investigations concern the alleged market operations involving Audero, Peeters and Mulé.
Currently the file is open with model 45, which does not include hypotheses of crime. One
aspect that will have to be considered by the authorities is that Sampdoria is not a company
listed on the stock exchange like Juventus, and therefore the alleged crimes could differ.
Audero was officially bought on 29 January 2019 for €20 million. Daouda Peeters, the Belgian,
was sold by Sampdoria to Juventus for 4 million on January 30, 2019. Erasmo Mulé, on July 31,
2019, moved from Sampdoria to the black and whites for 3.5 million euros. Mulé never wore the
Sampdoria shirt, as he was bought by Trapani for 350,000 euros and immediately transferred to
the black and whites.
